Saint Chamant Brut Blanc de Blancs 2002

I love Champagne in all it’s wonderful array of colors, but I especially like when it takes on a biscuit like flavor.  Upon tasting this very fine bottle of Saint Chamant Brut Blanc de Blancs 2002 the first thing that sprang to mind was that it was one Scooby Snack of a bottle.  I always wondered as a kid what a Scooby Snack might taste like, I mean, Shaggy ate them so they must have been not only edible but down right tasty.  And so is the Saint Chamant Blanc de Blancs; it is all toasty brioche and biscuit with a laser like lime note and zesty bubbles.  It’s in the zone now, it’s there and drinking well and I wish it were slightly more affordable to drink more often because it’s a baller bottle of Champers.  Purchased at De Vino for $68, it is well worth the price for a more special occasion Champagne experience.  Scooby Snacks for the Champagne connoisseur.
